The Lorenzo il Magnifico is just 15 minutes on foot from the centre of Florence, and if you’re not happy with walking, both public transport and taxi’s will whisk you to the centre in 5 minutes. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, guests will find restaurants that the hotel has a special arrangement with [read: you eat good food and avoid the tourist traps]. The spectacular Fortezza da Basso is nearby making the Lorenzo il Magnifico ideal if you intend to go to one of the many annual trade shows taking place at this Florentine conference hall. A “borgo” is an Italian way of describing a little hamlet, which you might find if you were travelling by horseback in the countryside of a Robin Hood era. A closed off and isolated from the elements spot where from which to enjoy time to yourself or time with friends.

Nearly 90% of all of Florence’s historical monuments can be found right in the centre of the city. It’s a small area, literally 20 minutes walk north, east, south and west of the beautiful Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore.
